  8. I do not drink alcoholic beverages.
  9. I am loyal to a fault.
  10. While You Were Sleeping is my favorite movie of all times, along with Must Love Dogs.
  11. I love the city of New Orleans, passionately.
  12. I like dogs, but I don’t have one.
  13. I do not like steak.
  14. My favorite vegetable is collard greens with chow chow.
  15. I love fresh Halibut.
  16. I would love to one day host my own cooking show titled Cooking with Denay!
  17. I am horrible about editing my own work, hence spelling and grammar errors.
  18. My favorite thing to do on Saturday mornings is visit local Farmers Markets.
  19. My favorite flower is the Anthurium because it is a heart shaped flower symbolizing “love” or at least it symbolizes that to me.
  20. I am from Detroit, Michigan.
  21. My family roots are in Georgia and Louisiana.
  22. I make the best Sweet Potato Pie in the world.
  23. I love sweet fruit, ripe and busting with flavor.
  24. I am totally in love with hot sauce.
  25. I played tennis in high school.
  26. I was in the United States Navy.
  27. I lived in Japan for over 3 years.
  28. My three favorite things to do; cook, travel and engage in interesting conversations!
  29. I am a teacher.
  30. I am in love with life.
  31. I am on a lifelong journey to lose weight, permanently, this time.

  33. I am addicted to using herbs and spices.
  34. I do not have much of a sweet-tooth.
  35. My daughter inspires me, I want to be like her when I grow up.
  36. I like being called “Denay”, most people do not pronounce my first name correctly.
  37. I took six plus years of Spanish, and can’t speak it.
  38. Sometimes I want to go in the kitchen and just cook like crazy.
  39. I love meeting new people.
  40. I want to have a tapas party every night.
  41. I love all types of mustard.
  42. My favorite food as a child was a tuna sandwich.
  43. I am less organized than I was 10 years ago.
  44. I watch intelligent cooking shows that teach more and entertain less.
  45. I attended “Mama’s Culinary Art School” located in my mom’s kitchen.
  46. As a child, I ate possum and sweet potatoes while visiting my grandparents in Clinton, LA.
  47. I am a home-based baker and pies are my specialty.
  48. I make a “mean” chicken shawarma with garlic yogurt cheese.
  49. I like to read at night.
  50. I believe in God.
  51. I love babies and young children, they are so innocent and untainted by the world.
  52. If I could have dinner with anyone alive or dead it would be Dione Lucas, Lena Richard, Edna Lewis, Lula Simpson and Julius Rogers. (They are all deceased.)
  53. My most memorable meal was a Thanksgiving dinner over 20 plus years ago where I prepared my first Turducken.
  54. I can be pessimistic.
  55. Milk or Dark, I always select dark chocolate.
  56. My secret goal for 2012 is to make sure all 50 states have or are on their way to having a cottage food law. Cottage Food Crafters rock!!!
