The Raleigh Farmers Market Bakery

Six year ago the Raleigh Farmers Market allowed home-based bakers to sell their products under the craft shed. Today bakers and food crafters have a crowded by charming area at the front of the farmers main shed.
This past Saturday I visited the Raleigh Farmers Market after moving away from the area almost two years ago. I was shocked to see baked goods of every type. The bakers decorated their spaces in elaborate FallĀ  colors and the presentations were exceptional. I must admit, the Charlotte Farmers Market could stand to learn a few things about product presentation.

One interesting observation is that there was a commercial bakery, La Farm, a bakery that uses a rented commercial kitchen facility and a host of home-based bakers. In fact, when it comes to bakery products, it is obvious that there was something there for everyone, Artisan breads, coffee cakes, carrot cake, cupcakes, cookies, you name it and someone was probably selling it.

If you’re ever in Raleigh, NC on a Saturday morning, I highly suggest that you stroll over to the front of the farmers shed and pick up some of the delicious baked goods from the Raleigh Farmers Market Bakery.
